Povos Da Floresta

The Povos da Floresta project, which means 'Forest People', is a reforestation project carried out in Brazil's Acre State. Clarins and Pur Projet offer to plant fruit and native trees at the heart of agricultural land.

The project's priority is the assisted regeneration of spoiled areas, with a view to protecting biodiversity and the culture of the Ashaninka people, who heavily depend on their forest for their livelihood.
The aim is to plant 130,000 forest trees, fruit and native tree species (mahogany, araca, lemon, orange and mango trees, tropical pine trees, etc.). This helps to preserve and regenerate the local biodiversity and water resources. It also enables the local communities to start organic farming activities and improve their livelihood.
